What would cause them to plug up and cause alot of smoke to come out the tailpipe. Friend was waiting to start a parade route, setting still with idle way up tto keep the battery charging. All of a sudden smoke came out the left side of the bike so we shut it done and towed it the the repair shop.Clogged injector. Why?

Billy, normally a clogged fuel injector would cause the bike to skip, not smoke. also, with an 1800, it is not necessary to keep the bike idled up for it to charge unless you have an excessive amount of lights on it. Three things usually cause an engine to smoke. An overly rich gas mixture, a blown head gasket that lets antifreeze into the combustion chamber, and excessive oil which could come from a broken ring or a stuck ring or excessive wear.
