On a 1500 front brake caliper; one of the pin plugs refuses to budge. I even hit it with an impact driver. Would it be OK to heat it up a bit to see if it will turn? Any other ideas?

I`d try it being careful to keep the pin as cool as you could and gently heat the area around it.

A previous poster said that they had removed the caliper and used a small pair of vise-grips to grab the pin and turned it . Might be worth a try .

Tony, is it the Plug or the Pin that is not coming out?

If it is the plug, you can usually get a stubron plug out with an impact driver with the properly sized screwdriver tip. That is how I have done it in the past with 100% success.

If you are not having any success, a little heat or cold should help but I think it will come loose with the impact driver.

Impact driver did not loosen the plug but penetrating oil did.
