Thursday, November 05, 2009 10:23 am | I have read of a guy who cut a hole in the left side compartment cover and mounted a volt meter in it. He seemed to like it. I have been thinking of the same thing. Mike Brown Harrisburg, NC CD NC Y-2 Rocky River Wings IBA# 35455 |

Thursday, November 05, 2009 02:04 pm | Why no break in price? GWRRA has the opportunity to sell many of them. Even a $5-10 break wouldn't break them. |

Thursday, November 05, 2009 04:54 pm | The price break is probably the free shipping. That should be a few bucks savings. |

Thursday, November 05, 2009 05:47 pm | There are a couple of models for the Battery Bug. The automotive model has two wires exiting the case, one on each side. The powersports model (for motorcycles, etc), has only one cable coming out from the right side of the case. There supposedly is a difference in the programming of the microprocessor that does the analysis of the battery condition. |

Thursday, November 05, 2009 06:30 pm | $29.99 at O'Reilly's Auto Parts. The only difference is that it has a coiled cord. I have one on the Wing and also the ATV. Sunday, November 08, 2009 11:40 am | After going back and rereading the GWWRA article, Website by manufacturer and checking with others the $29.99 sold at O'Reilly's does not function same as One for powersports and isn't recommended for powersports. The powersports version was a redesign. Don't take my word for it, I haven't bought one yet, but plan on it real soon. |

Sunday, November 08, 2009 12:17 pm | The Battery Bug is a nice little volt/battery condition meter. It works as advertised. And the retail price is $49.95. I think if GWRRA is going to offer it as a special, so special that they email EVERYONE in the association, they should offer a price break other than free shipping. I bought my Battery Bugs, I bought two of them, from Value Teck for $39.95 each and the total shipping was $3.95. They have changed their price on them now for some reason but I think GWRRA should be able to match that price. Maybe writing to the home office will get us somewhere in that regard. It couldn't hurt. Sunday, November 08, 2009 05:21 pm | Amazon has the battery bug for $49.95 also plus free shipping. I just ordered mine Sat from them because I had coupons. So same price as from GWRRA. I too can't understand it if they are going to advertise it to everyone why not a little discount. They sound like a helpful item. Hope so. |

Sunday, November 08, 2009 07:52 pm | I got mine from Argus, and it is the one for powersports. I like the "one" lead coming out the right side and the long straight lead hookup. I do wish they had put a restart button on. If you want to reset it, you have to disconnect one of the leads. Otherwise, works like it should. Wonder how many batteries will be sold because of the "bug." : ) |

Tuesday, November 10, 2009 01:04 pm | Regarding Truman's post above: I don't know how it could function any different. It shows the current voltage and the percent battery life remaining. The major difference is to not purchase the one for deep cycle batteries. Garnet Stevens told me he talked to the manufacturer and they said it would work fine.
