Tuesday, November 03, 2009 07:16 am | I just purchased an '01 GL1800 on which the vinyl is somewhat faded due to not being under cover for a couple of years. I don't want to use Armorall on the seat because I'll be sliding around on it for several years. I learned that lesson forty years ago when I used it on the seat of my 305 Superhawk. Anyone have suggestions on how to bring the seat back to life without using Armorall? Rick |

Dust, dirt, & bird poop all over. Seat felt hard & dingy from the layer of dirt on it; I was afraid the vinyl would crack if I sat on it. With nothing to loose, I looked at the tub of Safety Kleen hand cleaner on my bench. Smelled like their cleaning solvent, but did leave the hands soft. Smeared it on the seat, let it sit a bit, then wiped it off. It looked like new and the vinyl was nice & supple! And NOT slippery. That was 6 years ago, and the seat still looks & feels like new.
