clean and/or lubricate switch. WD 40 followed by contact cleaner while operating switch. Be sure to cover plastic.

Pull the switch assembly out and disassemble to clean. Probably sand or grit that has gotten between the actual switch and the plastic cover that you press.

On our 1500 the 4 ways would always stick on also. I took it apart and cleaned out all the old grease which had gotten very stiff. Cleaned it up and re-lubed with silicone di-electric grease and it still works. Oh Yes, be sure to have some towels under the switch housing to catch ALL the little pieces that are in there.

Thanks to all of you. It is encouraging to know that it fix may be simple because simple is good. I'm not sure how to get at the switch on the 1800 but I will try the spray method first. I did take out the glove box but it didn't appear as though I could get to the switch from there.

It is an 1800. I got it out with the lub but now it won't stay on. I'm going to wait and see what happens after the spray dries. I hit it with some air around 30 psi.
