i have a '88 1500 that i just bought . twice now after a rain it has lock up due to water in left cylenders. has others had same problem, how did you fix

What do you mean "water IN left cylinders"? Perhaps you mean water beneath the rubber spark plug boots?

Sounds like either a cracked head or a blown gasket. Not good either way....but fixable if that's all it is.

Is the water clear or green(antifreeze)?
That will go a long way in finding the problem.
If it only dose this after sitting in the rain and is not green I don't think it will be a head or gasket.
If it is clear water check for leaks around carborator, air cleaner or intake manifold.
Keep us informed on your findings.
