Saturday, October 31, 2009 01:53 pm | Norm, I have to ask, how did you determine that there was no fire? What you just stated, would require one and a half coils going bad. Did you pull the plugs and with the wire attached ground them to the head while turning the engine over, or did you just pull the plug wires off one at a time and get no difference in the way the bike runs? If it is the latter, you may have a pilot jet stopped up on one carb. That would cause it to run on one bank only. A little more information on how you determined this would help. James I. Jones |

When I started the bike it was running rough so I removed 1 plug wire at time when the bike was running and then I got to the right side the bike did not stall when i pulled the plug wire, but when I pulled the plug out and switched with another on the same side the bike did not stall. The funny thing was that the plug did not look wet, so I guess it may be a fuel problem |

Sunday, November 01, 2009 01:38 pm | Honda uses the wasted spark system on all its multi cylinder engines. One spark plug is the positive end and the other the negative end of each coil. Both fire at the same time. One end can't go bad; it's either both ends are dead or both ends are working. |

Friday, November 13, 2009 05:51 pm | Norm: how old is the fuel in your tank, you might try draining fuel tank replace with good fuel. had problem with friends bike 2 wks. ago had same symptoms. let run 5 mins. after good fuel in tank. you might try that. GOOD LUCK DAVE |
