The 'energy conserving' circle/star is only on xW-30 or lighter oils.
0W-40 and up are not 'energy conserving'.
The 15W-50 certainly is not.
The SAE circle is not the same thing.

I've used Mobil 1 for years but before storing the bike this month, I used blue jug Rotella T for next season. It certainly is cheaper than Mobil 1 by $10/jug here. Supposed to be a good choice. Not energy conserving either.
Best regards,

Jim

The Mobile One 10-40 "High mileage" type does not have the energy conserving label.

Jim, Where do you find the blue jug Rotella here in Edmonton?
I've looked but can not seem to find it.
Thanks.

Mobile one had got down from $26 to $21 for a 5-quart jug at my local walmart. Noticed yesterday that it rose to $22 (recently weaker dollar and Holiday driving season approaching). This is still cheaper per quart than Rotella Syn. So, I bought 2 jugs one 10W40 (NON energy conserving) for the bike and 5W30 for the bike. Works out pretty good because the extra quart form the bike jug is needed in the truck (6 quarts). Don't figure one quart of 10W40 will hurt it.
