Wednesday, October 28, 2009 03:03 pm | I just installed a new rear tire on my 02 GL1800A. Took it out for a "chilly" test ride (I'm in Sale Lake City). I pulled out onto the street and began to go through the gears when suddenly my throttle grip came totally loose and began to slip. Boy, did that get my attention! I got home and easily pulled the ISO grip off. It looks like some type of glue or cement was previously used to install it. I read on a thread below about using hair spray. I cleaned things up and shot hair spray into the grip and slid it on. It didn't stick...still loose. Can somebody give me some advice on how to get this grip to stick? Appreciate it! I started using Gorilla Glue and it worked a lot better... but you have to be careful with it cuz it 'bubbles up' and can drip out the end, usually between the grip and the bar switch. It's tough to get off... especially plastic but it does hold the grips. Let dry overnight. |

I stopped in the Advanced Auto parts store and bought some cheap super glue. I put a little amount at the end and stuck the grip back on. So far it's still working. John/Jack |
