Tuesday, October 27, 2009 02:01 pm | I've never bothered with it while traveling, you might expect around 3 or 4 psi differences with temps, as long as the tires are kept up I wouldn't worry about it on the short term, if you are going a couple of weeks you might need to check it every couple of days. If you are in extreme temp changes you might want to keep it up more than that. Besides as the elevation increases, the temperature often falls and visa versa, so one tends to cancel the other. |

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 06:17 pm | On the bike, I check front and rear at ambient air temp in the mornings or start of the day's travel. I set it then. I do it every morning. During the day, it does warm up, but I do not try to adjust to it. 1997 Honda GL1500 "SE / Lehman Trike" aka: "Big Wing" 1985 Honda GL1200 "Aspencade" aka: "Wing" 1974 Triumph T-150V "Trident" aka: "Baby" Where I live, work, & play aka: "Home" A pause in a Ride aka: "evening" On the Road aka: "Mother Road" Back at Work aka: "Good One" As a boy on the JohnDeere MTaka: "favorite ride" My better half aka: "Wife Unit" Thank You aka: "God's Country" ... and whatever you do, have a Safe Trip! |

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 07:24 pm | I wonder how many people check the air pressure in their car tires when they travel? I have worked in service bays and have seen vehicles come in with such unbelievable tire pressures that you would pass out. Some are in excess of 50 psi and some as low as 10 psi. I check both the bike and vehicle before leaving on a trip and don't worry about it after that, unless something drastic happens, I don't mess with it after that. I have put on many miles on all my vehicles over the years and it works for me. Dallas Neumiller |
