Monday, October 26, 2009 04:53 pm | Has anyone had issues with their "set" button for the cruse? Also looks like the On-Off button is stuck "ON" not that that is a bad thing. Shot a little WD40 in the cracks but looks like I might have to go in and have a look around. Any thoughts "Have bags packed and ready to ride" Yellow gold 1800 03' |

In my case I had to use the cleaner, combined with working the switch repeatedly, on a couple of occasions before it finally got clean enough that it now turns on and off. I had the same problem with my mute button. |

I have had several bad contacts/switches that contact cleaner would not solve, but WD40 does every time, in a couple of very bad instances it did require a second cleaning a week or so later. My advice? Use the WD40 liberally with your wife's best towels underneath to protect the bike, and keep playing with the switch and spraying into it until it works well, use it for a week or two to be sure that you have it, then follow up with contact cleaner from Radio Shack to wash out the WD40. |

Monday, October 26, 2009 08:32 pm | So as i see this is a common problem. I do not see that anyone has taken the area in ? apart. So hit it with a few days of spray and see what works free? "Have bags packed and ready to ride" Yellow gold 1800 03' |

Sometimes they can get a broken part inside that will need dis assembly to repair, be careful because it will literally explode with tiny springs and parts flying off to the four winds when you do though. Most often it is just a stuck button due to debris, or corrosion on dirty contacts though. |

Have a 2003 wing and had both sides replaced this past August with my warranty ending the next month. I too had the set cruise button sticking & the mute button for radio. That extende warranty was well worth the money especially considering the labor costs for replacement. My day in court will be SOON! |
