Sunday, October 25, 2009 08:10 pm | My 1995 SE started fine when I went to Gatlenberg. We got up one morning to ride the Dragon and it started fine but when I pulled out and traveled 100 ft it just shut off like I tuned the switch off. Cranked and cranked and finally gave it full throttle and it started. No more problems until about a month later same problem. Only this time I had to let it set for a while before it started. Not the gas or air filter as they are new. Any thoughts. One day at a time |

Monday, October 26, 2009 05:10 am | Billy - My thoughts is that it acts more like a dirty kill switch which I would spray with a good cleaner. Next time it happens turn the ignition switch off then back on and see if it starts. If so then I would lean towards the bank angle sensor. There is also the possiblity of an intermittent fuel pump problem which can be easily checked during a non-cranking situation. Disconnect the fuel hose from the filter to the vacuum shut off valve and if you have good flow there then check the output on the other side of the shutoff valve. Gary may be right on, but it sounds more like and electrical problem to me an your description sounds more like a flooding problem due to the plugs not firing. Good luck. |
