I recently had to replace the actuator on my '03 1800 wing. When I didn't have reverse I started running the checks in the repair manual. I found the actuator froze. I am wondering if this is a normal occurance or a fluke. No one in my Chapter has had this problem.

My '08 wing doesn't want to engage when the bike is first started up cold- have to rock the bike and then it will engage. Did yours start out acting like that? Mine started this about two months after it was purchased in April 2008. I haven't had it looked at yet- too busy riding to take the down time!

My reverse just quit working. In summer of '07 is the first time I had trouble with reverse. That fall I took it to the dealer's and had it looked at. The connections going to the actuator were green with corrosion. They fixed that, under warranty. When it started again this summer I decided to look into it myself. I would like to suggest you take this winter for down time and have it looked at while it is under warranty.
