I had this compartment out one day and forgot to hook up the cable so the key would work and of course closed it. Now I can't get into it. Is there a way to get to the locking mechanism without destroying the lid or compartment???

Yes the best way I found is to dismantal the top shelter and get it open that way.. Allot of work .. I did the same thing and that is how I did it..
Maybe someone else has a better idea..
