Will the contrast look bad? Can I dye the rest of the plastics Black? Has anyone used the seat cover by Junes upholstery? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-Goldwing-1500 -Aspencade-Replacement-Seat-Cover_W0QQcmdZViewItem QQhashZitem4ceaf9ccfdQQitemZ330359753981QQptZMotor cyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-GL1500A-Seat- Cover-Gold-Wing-Aspencade-GL1500_W0QQcmdZViewItemQ QhashZitem23031c2cdeQQitemZ150376033502QQptZMotorc yclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Wednesday, October 21, 2009 07:33 pm | Haven't had experience with June, but I purchased a couple of replacement seat covers for my ATVs from Joemama in Arkansas and was extremely pleased with both the price and quality of material and workmanship. I haven't ordered any motorcycle seat covers from Joemama, but if I needed some, I would have no hesitation about buying there.

Thursday, October 22, 2009 06:25 pm | Mark, I have a '97SE that came stock with a black seat. Looks much better than brown to me. I guess Honda got their design brain back the following year. |

Saturday, October 24, 2009 06:07 am | Mark, Check out B&G Cycle Upholstry, They have seat covers. They are great, I had them on my '96 and '97 GL 1500s and now on my two GL 1800s. They add a lot of comfort as well as look good. They have about 1/8th inch foam pad that really makes a difference and they don't cost like a new aftermarket seat. They do have a website. Mitchell |

Sunday, October 25, 2009 03:24 pm | I used a product called MolecuBond to change my 96SE Candy Red seat and plastics from brown to black. It worked great and has held up well for the last five years. Makes the bike look much better. |

Sunday, October 25, 2009 08:54 pm | Thanks to all those who have replied. Steve how do you properly prepare plastic for paint? Mitchell, I will check out B&G Cycle Upholstry that sounds good. I am looking for water tight. Don, Molecubond sounds like the ideal fix to get the rest of the plastic to match the new seat. Thank you all, Mark

Monday, October 26, 2009 08:54 am | Molecubond left a nice satin finish to the seat, a corbin leather, and the plastic trim. Any scuffs and I just respray the area and it matches. I was very surprised that the leather seat has held up so well. |

Monday, October 26, 2009 08:55 am | My bike is red, and had the brown seat. It looked OK, but dated. I now have a Corbin, and it's all black. You may also want to keep in mind the plastic pieces. Mine where brown also, then I painted them grey. Now they are getting painted black to match the seat, and look more updated. If you go to a professional auto paint store, they can set you up with a good quality spray paint for the plastic. The brand I use is "SEM". |
